CBI Unearthed arms ammunition and explosiveros fm Sandeshkhali in Bengal Kolkatta, Apr 26 (UNI) The CBI on Friday unearthed arms, ammunition and explosives after raiding a vacant house at Sarberia under Sandeshkhali area in North 24 Parganas of West Bengal, official sources said. A group of CBI officials fanning out at different places in Sandeshkhali raided the house and unearthed a cache of arms and ammunition.The federal agency also unearthed explosives from the house, which was surrounded by the CRPF. The state police were also informed. Sources said during the raid the CBI found the house vacant with no electricity. The electricians were called to restore power line. It's yet to be known the exact number of arms recovered. However, some foreign made arms were recovered and the search operation continued. Initial report said the house belonged to a local villager. Sarberia is the village of the arrested TMC leader Sahhajan Sheikh, accused of attacking the ED officials on January 5 when they went there to search his house in the alleged ration scam case in which former food minister Jyotipriya Mallick was arrested. The ECI has sought report from the district authorities.
