Kolkata (Special correspondent) - West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari urged skilled professionals to return home for new opportunities. He attempted to project West Bengal as a jobs and technology investment hub with more support for expansion. India Today Reported this news today.

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Thursday urged skilled and educated professionals from the state who are working in other parts of India and abroad to return, saying they would find opportunities under the "double-engine government". He said his government was focused on creating jobs for the state’s educated youth and restoring West Bengal’s position as an investment destination.

Speaking at the inauguration of Phase-I of LTM’s new IT campus, Ananda Niketan, in New Town, Adhikari also assured the company of support for expansion. He said the state government would hand over an additional 10 acres of land for a data centre, after the company wrote to the government around two months ago seeking the land.

Adhikari said, "There are a huge number of educated unemployed. They need jobs and are very much interested in Bengal."

Addressing LTM chairman and managing director SN Subrahmanyan and his team, he said the government would extend all possible support to the company’s future investments in the state. "LTM is a very good and reputed international player. I assure you that the group will come again and again and invest more. We will cooperate with your team," he said.

Phase-I of LTM’s Ananda Niketan IT campus has two buildings spread across nearly eight lakh square feet and can accommodate around 5,800 engineers and professionals. Adhikari said the government was giving special attention to creating opportunities in emerging technology sectors such as artificial intelligence, cyber security, chip design, automation and digital manufacturing.

He also stressed the need for partnerships between academia and industry to generate jobs for young people, and said the government would help create credit access and opportunities for small businesses. "Our vision is clear. Our only mantra is to transform West Bengal," he said.

The Chief Minister also praised the campus for its energy-efficient systems and smart building management, and assured the company of continued support. "Whatever you need, the chief minister’s both hands are ready to provide," he said.
