Milind Vaidya Appointed Pune District President of Senior Journalist Federation; UNI's Shriprakash Pandey and Pramod Shah Named Vice Presidents

Pune, July 14 (Representative): Veteran journalist Milind Vaidya has been appointed as the Pune District President of the Senior Journalist Federation of India (SJFOI), Maharashtra, a national-level organisation working for senior journalists. UNI journalist Shriprakash Pandey and senior newspaper photojournalist Pramod Shah have been appointed as Vice Presidents of the district unit. Maharashtra State General Secretary Sanjay Joshi handed over the appointment letters to the newly elected office-bearers and congratulated them.

At a meeting held in Pune on Monday (July 13), the executive committees for Pune District, Pune City, and Pimpri-Chinchwad were announced. Journalist Chandrakant Kamble was appointed as the District Secretary. The meeting was attended by the organisation's legal advisors Adv. Sunil Rawade and Adv. Omkar Mane, journalist Nitin Yelmar, and members from Pune City, Pune District, and Pimpri-Chinchwad.

During the meeting, members were informed that nearly 400 pension proposals of senior journalists are pending with the Maharashtra Government. The federation is actively working on submitting new pension proposals and pursuing their approval. It is also striving to secure free medical treatment up to ₹5 lakh for journalists and their families, affordable housing, concessions on State Transport (ST) bus and railway travel, and assistance in obtaining journalist accreditation cards.

Addressing the gathering, State General Secretary Sanjay Joshi appealed to journalists aged 55 years and above to become members of the federation in large numbers and strengthen the organisation's efforts for the welfare of senior journalists.
