Sensex falls 56.74 points
Mumbai, Dec 6 (UNI) Snapping a winning streak of last five sessions, the BSE Sensex ended negative at 81,709.12, declining 56.74 pts on profit booking by local operators.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) slipped 30.60 pts at 24,677.80.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in its policy on Friday kept its Repo Rates unchanged for 11 straight meeting.
See-saw trend was seen during the day, as the Sensex opened higher at 81,887.54, rising 122 pts.
It was further gained 160 pts at 81,925.91, days high. Later, it went in red, and slipped 259 pts at 81,506.19, days low, before closing at 81,709.12, sliding 56.74 pts from its previous close.
The Nifty registered days high and low at 24,751.05 pts and by 24,620.50 pts respectively.
The stocks that fell were Technology by 0.33 pc, IT by 0.07 pc and Health care by 0.08 pc.
The Mid cap rose 0.36 pc and Small cap by 0.60 pc.
In 30 scrips, 13 advanced while 17 declined.
The losers were Adani Ports by 1.38 pc to Rs 1258, Bharti Airtel by 1.01 pc to Rs 1597, IndusInd Bank by 0.95 pc to Rs 988.50 and Asian paints by 0.91 pc to Rs 2430.
The gainers were Tata Motors by 3.19 pc to Rs 817.80, Axis Bank by 1.46 pc to Rs 1184.40, Maruti Suzuki by 1.24 pc to Rs 11319 and ITC by 0.99 pc to Rs 472.20.
